Match It: A game to play with the Fraction Wars deck

Every time I get out the Fraction Wars decks, someone comes up with a new idea for a game we can play with the cards. My hope is to share each game here. Behold — Match It!

Start: Lay all of the cards face-up.

Goal: Matching cards to make a given fraction. For example, match the cards below that can be combined to make 1 whole.

How do I win? You get 1 point for every card you use. For example, if you use 2 cards to make 1 whole, you get 2 points. If you use 4 cards, you get 4 points. The player with the most points at the end of the game wins. The game is over when no more matches can be made.

What I love about this game: First, that the goal amount can easily be changed. We’ve played with the goal of making 1, 1/2, and 1/4 so far. Second, that players can find solutions based on their comfort level. For example, 1 whole could be made like this:
